In this article we’ll go over the dashboard of MediaScribe and learn how to use the toggles in the header to turn Captions on & off.

UI Element | Description | |

| 1 | Side Navigation Menu | Provides access to different screens of the MediaScribe User Interface |
| 2 | Caption Toggle | Toggles captioning on and off. Source and Translation languages configured in the active preset will be used. |
| 3 | Recording Toggle | Toggles recording on and off. New Records will be named according to the active presets name template. |
| 4 | Preset Selector | Allows changing the active preset. Note presets can only be changed when captions and recording inactive. |
| 5 | I/O - Preview | Shows a thumbnail preview of the currently selected I/O. |
| 6 | Transcript Preview | Provides a real time update of transcript data. Note this will only update when Captions are turned on. |
| 7 | I/O - Status | Provides quick access to Input / Output status such as input signal and resolution, as well as current output configuration. |
| 8 | I/O Selector | Provides small previews of each input / output. Clicking will select that I/O and update the I/O Preview and I/O Status. |
